Fascinating and thought provoking essay. It's great to read an article that takes music as art and culture seriously.
I'm left thinking of the early promise offered by rock and punk, of "liberation" (from tradition, from Cold War nonsense, from the 'rat-race') - but today, liberation from what? We're already untethered, floating in a void ... much food for thought for sure.
