Great article. I’ve seen the film. I was horrified by it and didn’t think any part of the lives portrayed were glamorous or appealing. The main love story was unrealistic (Tony had nothing to offer the woman other than his twinkle toes) but the gritty culture and sexism seemed realistic and horrible. It’s a fascinating document of the era.
