I get what you’re saying, but I think that the answer isn’t just repeating the same old boring tired stories with different faces. It’s about actually looking for new stories and fresh talents. My favourite English language film of the last couple years was “sorry to bother you” and what I love is it’s just such a fresh take. I really related to it although I’m neither American nor Black. The future of films is giving chances to the Jordan Peeles and the Boots Rileys, not because they’re black, but because they’re incredibly original and talented so let’s have more of them of every colour, race and gender..
