There were way more important Black people in the 18th and 19thC than we used to think. Now that historians are paying attention! Look at Pushkin for example. Russians know about him of course but who else does?
It's just goes to show we need more films about these remarkable REAL people, and not fake Bridgerton kind of stuff.
